With over 15 years of experience teaching Mathematics in secondary schools across Norfolk and Suffolk, I transitioned into teacher training, delivering professional development to educators throughout the region. This led me to establish In Addition Education, where I focused on providing tailored training programmes for Maths teachers.​

 

In September 2020, I took on the role of Secondary Lead for Maths at Angles Maths Hub. In this position, I designed and delivered training courses, while leading a team to support the professional development of Maths teachers across the region.​

 

In 2023, I co-founded the Eastern Mathematics Partnership, an initiative providing targeted intervention sessions for GCSE students and bespoke support for local schools. Around the same time, I encountered the work of Complete Mathematics at a conference in Leeds, which resonated deeply with my own approach to teaching. This led me to begin collaborating with them in 2024, particularly with their TUTOR platform—a resource I believe is pivotal in enhancing student outcomes.​

 

 

In July 2024, I underwent heart surgery, which gave me time to reflect on my career and my passion for supporting young people in becoming mathematically literate. In light of the ongoing funding crisis in schools and the shortage of qualified Maths teachers, I have another focus to my work - supporting parents and guardians to help their children succeed in Mathematics.
