Benefits of TUTOR
Support where it is needed
The first step is to establish at what stage to begin. Using a series of questions that cleverly adjusts to the level of the user, TUTOR will determine the exact start point needed. Unlike most private tutors who have expertise in one phase of mathematics, TUTOR covers the whole of mathematics from early years to year 13 and utilises expertise from all phases.
Built using learning Science
Following the diagnostic test, each user will have a bespoke start point that consists of 5 goals. Each goal contains instructional videos from an expert at that developmental stage, examples, practice questions and a quiz.
Realise their potential
TUTOR contains over 1800 learning goals and covers all the content to degree readiness. Allow children with a love for the subject to move through at their own pace. Perhaps you enjoyed Maths at school but never studied to A level - it's never too late!
How to use TUTOR
Supporting where needed - The Diagnostic Quiz
Here I walk you through a brief demonstration of the diagnostic tool in TUTOR. This series of short questions will ensure your child starts at the correct developmental stage and will be the basis for their personalised journey of Maths support.

We recommend they write down the answer to each question before answering on the screen so they can check if they truly know the answer or not.
Utilising Learning Science - The Focus 5
The My Focus 5 section assigns five personalised goals based on the diagnostic results. Each goal follows a structured learning flow to build understanding and confidence.

I talk you through the stages of each goal, demonstrating the effective process that enables learning to happen.
Succeeding in Exams - Targeted Courses
The Memory Boost helps retention of new knowledge acquired and the courses feature allows specific targets to be set. I demonstrate how to access this functionality when students are preparing for exams.

I also show that badges are awarded for progress made and each student's progress is highlighted on their very own map of Maths.
The Complete Mathematics Curriculum
A quick overview of the Complete Mathematics Curriculum showing how Maths education has been mapped in an interconnected web spiralling up from Year 1 to Year 13.
A TUTOR partnership
The main benefit of a private Tutor over an Intelligent Tutoring System is accountability, after all if you are paying a lot of money for an hour of tuition you make sure your child is actually there for the lesson! To achieve the results you want you need to form good habits with TUTOR and this is where In Addition Education can help.

Make it a habit
Just like private tuition occurring at the same time each week you must plan for TUTOR use and add it to the calendar. We recommend at least 3 sessions of 20 minutes a week giving enough time to regularly complete goals and use the memory boost. Habit stacking can help to minimise missed sessions. This is where you pair the TUTOR habit with a mini reward, something the child likes to do after completing their goal.

Weekly updates*
Each week the account holder will receive an email update of the learner's activity on TUTOR. This allows you to see if regular practise is happening and shows you what concepts they have been working on.
For the most effective impact a partnership is needed: we provide expertise in mathematics education and you provide accountability at home.
